Lost Hope..

The room was dimly lit and it was plugged with stream of smoke emancipating from a small fireplace that was stuffed with some wet wooden laths. A woman had positioned herself near the fireplace and was struggling hard to make the fire but the wet planks would hardly give in. She was constantly coughing and gagging lost in between the jet of smoke. Sometimes, she would try to coerce away the smoke flapping her hands and sometimes she would use the towel hung on her shoulder to do so; in-between the reiterating action she would give a short glance at her daughter each time with her swollen eyes filled with tears. Even her daughter would give a meek look at her in anticipation that her empty stomach would soon have its fill.

She struggled hard and finally when the damp wooden planks started to give in for heat and fire, she placed an old utensil on fire with some rice in it and moved towards her small daughter whom she loved more than anyone in the world. “Mother, today at school the principal summoned me to his office and ordered me not to appear in school tomorrow if I failed to pay all the dues.” She consoled her daughter, “Don’t worry sweetheart, we shall both go to the school tomorrow and settle the dues, Harka Dai will arrive soon with money”. “Mother, even my school dress is worn to shreds, so please get me a new one”. “Off course darling, we shall both make to the market tomorrow for your new dress”, she told her daughter. “By the way, did you finish your home-work? I want you to study hard and be someone worth respect”. “Yes, mother I have already finished it, I am very hungry right now.” She beamed with satisfaction that she is at least able to fund her daughter’s education and comforted her daughter, “Pretty soon, the food is getting ready.”

Just then the downpour started again. The pitter patter on the rooftop made it clear and loud that the monsoon was on its full swing. The heavy shower was trying hard to enter her small rented room. As the rain started to gather momentum, her face started growing dark as she well knew the untoward consequences that lied ahead. In fact most of the corrugated iron roof had been feed upon by rust, thus allowing the rain drops to slither inside without any major hurdle. Slowly the rain drops danced on her fireplace, hence blowing off the fire before the food was ready to be eaten. Both the mother and her little daughter looked at each other in sheer silence and embarrassment cursing their ill fate.

Harka Dai (brother) made just in time. He placed his umbrella by the door side, wiped off the water from his face and turned towards the daughter, “Hey little angel, how are you”. The little figure tucked her face inside her mother’s shawl and spoke nothing. Harka Dai felt his pocket, took out a chunk of sum and handed it to the woman. “Count it, our work at the old building is over and this is all your wages. It’s six thousand and from tomorrow we are going to start at the new building, so be on time. I have to go now.” She was busy totting up her hard earned sum and with a grin of hope on her face, she told Harka dai to have a cup of tea. But Harka dai denied stating that he had some important work to finish. Harka dai grabbed hold of the umbrella and off he went in the rain.

Since the food was only half cooked and the fireplace was taken over by the rain, she thought of getting some kerosene for the stove. She even considered for some tasty curry and told her daughter to wait for her, while she make to the market and get the essentials.

Just as she was going to step out of her room, a man in around 35, fully drunk and slashed by rain appeared before her. Though he was just 29, the alcohol had taken huge toll on his health, thus making him appear older than his actual age. He looked frail and fragile with over consumption of alcohol. Even his breathe oozed off the smell of fresh local brewed whiskey. “I know Harke just made it here, so he must have paid you. Give me that sum; I need it to quench my thirst.” But she refused and answered that her daughter had eaten nothing since two days and there is hardly anything left in the room. “I am your husband and you need to obey me and satiate my thirst or you shall get my kick.” But she resisted with the amount. Furious at the resistance of his wife, he got hold of the dripping wooden log from the fireplace and started thrashing her till she bled.

From the corner of a room, her daughter was keeping an eye on every move of her parents. The small one was shaking with fear and dislike, she had cached within her against her father. She was struggling to hide herself in between the small wooden table and a cot to escape ogling the brutality against her mother.

The woman tried to retaliate back, but in vain. At last he snatched the sum, and moved out of the room again somewhere in the dark.

The room was filled with utter silence for a while, and then it was shaken by a frantic wailing and sobbing. The small daughter ran to her mother. She tried to soothe her mother with her small fingers and a mellow voice. She looked at her daughter, caressed her for a while and stared frenziedly at the wall with nothing in her mind. Many a times, she had thought of committing suicide, but the angelic face of her daughter would always hold her back.

This was more than enough. She had been following this routine from seven long years. There was hardly any optimism left in her. She packed some of her clothes, clutched her daughter, mopped away her glistening tears and left the room parting away with every appalling memory that had bounded her. The rain was still on top while a small figure briskly moved ahead and vanished away in the dark with fresh hope, little fate and blissful dreams.

His eyes are affixed on the clock. It’s the clock on the wall just in front of his bed; the one he got as a gift on his birthday from his love interest. It has already struck twelve but there is not a single trace of sleep in his eyes. His eyes that are so quiet speak volume, but he hardly utters any. He subdues all the pain within himself.

The clock has Jim Morrison as wall paper. It’s slightly bigger than other ordinary wall clock and there are even some epigram etched just below the clock head.

He seems lost within the clock. Probably he is fleeing with his imagination to some hinterland, where he could find solace amongst all those gloominess he is engulfed with. He blinks his eyes and stream of tears roll down his cheeks, but he does not bother to wipe them away. He lets them march on their path till their existence is lost within the periphery of his murky face.

Sluggishly, he fetches a cigarette; gives a frantic look at it. Then, he reaches for the lighter that was placed on the table near his bed.  He lights the cigarette, inhales a puff of smoke into his lungs and exhales a thick cloud into the air. He rests his head on the pillow, makes some adjustment, and then gulps in another breathe of cigarette. While staring at the ceiling above, he shots a bubble of smoke upwards.

As he gazes at the ceiling, he spots a pair of gecko trying to make love.  A miniature smile curls up across his face. He draws in two puffs of smoke and ogles back at the scenic beauty of his ceiling. The exhaled smoke takes the serpentine shape and takes the vista he had been enjoying in its veil for a while. The smoke settles within a second and he gets back to where he was a second ago. Just then, out of nowhere another gecko appears and the situation turns out into something he had not expected for. A clear sign of frustration mounts his face again.

He resorts back to the cigarette, but it’s too small to take the puff. He dumps the soot on the ashtray that is almost full. He, again struggles through the cigarette pack, but fails to find a new piece. Just then he realizes, had emptied five packs that same day. At the very moment, the light goes off. “Damn, this load shedding” he rant to himself.

Sujin was out in the café, the hospital cafeteria. As it was raining incessantly he couldn’t make out to the street. Taking a seat nearby the window, he ordered for a hot coffee. Just then he thought something and peeped out of the window. It was raining cats and dogs; even then it was a beautiful site to watch and a relief to eyes. Never ever before, he had seen such a heavy downpour. He felt a deep connection of the nature with our emotions and our feelings but he couldn’t figure out what the real connection was?
The window was open and it was squeaking, the wind was howling with utter strength. The air flowing around brought some moist with it even inside the room. Since, Sujin was near the window he could feel its complete mesmerizing appeal. The cool moist of air relaxed and refreshed Sujin to some extent. It contributed a little in making him comfortable after a brief sour moment that he just went through. He felt as if the sky too was shedding tears in his sorrow; the rain--they sounded tedious and hopeless, as though they were telling over something inexpressively dreary and awful, something of which they were weary to the point of repulsion, something from which they have liked to run away but about which it was nevertheless imperative that they should accept. He closed his eyes to feel the soothing breeze full of moist but the moment he shut his eyes, the distressed and perplexed face of Sarina flashed before his eyes…..…

………Sujin was studying in class 10. He was a smart, diligent and a commendable student. Besides being a laborious student he was equally versatile and talented in different forms of extra curricular activities. But the one that he loved most was football. He had developed a keen interest in football since his childhood and had even dreamt of being a football legend someday. After school he would always be found dribbling football in the school ground. He was even the captain of his school football team. If football was his passion then computer was his obsession. His grandfather who was a computer engineer by profession made him familiar with computer from his tender age. Fortunate he was, as he got to learn the basic alphabets on the computer itself. From grandfather he inherited quite a lot of computer knowledge in legacy. He had great love for his grandfather, and so he had for the computer too. He would easily spend hours before computer surfing net and playing different games; but his favorite pastime was chatting online….
As usual, Sujin was back to the home after school, got refreshed, took his lunch, and sat on the terrace for a while. From the terrace he could see the beautiful sunset, so he would never miss it in the evening. Just then he remembered that his brother who was abroad would be online, so he made his way towards his room and signed in to the net to see if his brother was there. But to his dismay, his brother had already left the net with some messages. Since he had already signed to the net he felt like being there for some more time. He surfed through different sites and landed upon Nepalnews. Nepalnews was the most famous site among youth at that time. Those who did not know about Nepalnews were considered out of vogue or an alien among the youth. Teenager would be found floundering in the net just to remain in the limelight or to show that they too know about the latest trend. But Sujin was different from them. He knew each and everything about the ongoing culture.
Sujin wobbled in the site and flirted in the lobby for seconds or two. He then scanned through the chat rooms. There were guys and girls with the most weird and strange names. He scrolled through almost every name. But just a single name caught his attention as it was different and stood unique among the crowds with the name nEw_ch@ptEr. At once he hit the keyboard for conversation “hi, wanna Chat?”. However he did not get the reply. It’s not necessary to give reply to each and every one who hits for the conversation and there is no such hard and fast rule. Sujin thought it was not his day, so diverted his mind from chat room to the mail. He started to type mail addressing his brother. He wrote everything he wanted to say and included some of his latest snaps.
He had nearly finished his mail. Just then he got a message that said “Sorry bg thiye la”. In return he wrote, “that’s fine, n it wz fun waitin’ 2 hear frm ya’”. “Gosh, ya r too forward and I think it wud be fun chattin wid ya” she wrote. This is how they got started. Since Sujin knew well how to play with words, in no time he befriended her. She was very much impressed with his wits and humorous side.  They spent nearly an hour in fun. He convinced her to such an extent that she gave him her hotmail id without any hesitation. Since then it became his daily job to sign in the net at evening and have some cool chat with this girl with the name nEw_ch@Pter. For sure Nepalnews had opened up a new chapter in the pages of his life……

For Sujin it had been a habit, to return from the school and pop up in the internet and connect with nEw_ch@pter. Their talk would engulf everything, right from sun to the moon. But they never tried to go personal.
She would always say, “I won’t ask u for any personal information n I equally hope da same from u 2”.
So, Sujin never bothered to delve into this matter.  He just wanted to have a smooth relationship, a relationship so unique yet so beautiful. But it was crystal clear for both of them that they were from the same age group as they shared nearly the same choices and to some extent their thought would synchronize with each other. In no time, they got so close that they virtually fell in love with each other. They got so attached to each other that they simply could not resist talking with one another even for a day. They had not admitted their love for each other but both of them knew well that they had deep feelings for one other.
Two years passed and they still carried the same respect and friendly attitude towards each other. Somehow Sujin could not control his emotions over the fact that he had passed his +2 level in first division, so he decided that he would share this happiness with nEw_ch@Pter. He had been before the computer for an hour but she did not turn up. The chances were dim that she would turn up, but he waited patiently and bingo, after nearly another half hour she greeted him with, “Sorry”.
He just typed, “Never mind, no worries”.
“Actually I want to share a good news with you”, said Sujin.
“Oh! Really, I also got one”, she replied.
“I finished my +2 and the result is first division”, Sujin told.
“Great, Congrats”, she responded.
“So, itz ur turn now, go ahead”, Sujin said.
“Well, we are moving to US a week later, ya know DV; my father got one”, she clarified.
Sujin got mummified, he could not respond to this news. He just stared at the screen for a while.
“Won’t ya even congratulate me?”, she broke the ice.
“Yeah, congrats…..” Sujin typed unwillingly.
“Since I m leavin next week, let’s meet, I really wanna meet and share some words wid u”, she typed.

Sujin pondered for a while and thought this is the right time to utter all my words that are in my heart. I must meet her now or else I shall lose her forever.
Instantly, he replied “Ok, for sure”.
The day was fixed, the place and even the time was confirmed. They shared what kind of attire they would be in and where they would be at……….

It was just five in the morning but Sujin was already at Pashupatinath.  Sujin , a young man of just twenty is neither the one who holds a good  faith in god nor the one who is a devotee so strong to be at Pashupatinath ; as early as five in the morning.
The sun had just risen throwing all its silver lights side lining the darkest clouds of nights.  As a common epigram says, “morning shows the day”, the day was expected to be a good one for Sujin too. Sujin had been preparing himself for this day from a week or so. A week got so long for him that he felt like he had waited for this day from a year.
He took a seat wiping all the dew with his hand. The cold and moist dew gave him a chilling experience of freshness. He crumbled himself on the cold bench that was left there for visitors like him to sit and relax, while enjoying the beauty of the place.
It is from this very place that each and every corner of Pashupatinath can be covered in one glance. So, most of the people who make to Pashupatinath; seldom forget to stop their foot by this scintillating place.  Though it was early morning; the place was crammed by the people; some faithful devotees, some eager tourists, some health freak joggers and some couples too. The loud but appealing sounds from the bells around the temples had engulfed the whole areas but the more engrossing were the aroma of incense sticks that would make anyone more energetic and rejuvenated. Some frantic hymns from devotees could also be heard and the enchanting glimpses of small monkeys juggling around were more like watching some engrossing shows. The erratic moves of those small monkeys were being captured by the eager and ever ready tourists on their mega sizes SLR cameras.  It seems; that for now, the small playful monkeys were the point of attraction where everyone had fixed their eyes on. The visitors too, being happy were feeding some foods to those small cheerful monkeys.  But in a matter of seconds, a huge alpha male came banging and trotted all those small monkeys away for foods that were hither and thither on the ground. Everyone got awestruck with its move. The show, they were enjoying was over for now.
Just then, a beautiful girl clad in well crafted   dark blue jeans and tees on top appeared before him, he knew who see was. She was the same girl from his college, a year senior than him; on whom he had a crush; yet he never showed himself before her.

“Sujin….ryt?”, she mumbled in a small voice.
“Yeah!” , he said.
“nEw_ch@Pter here”, she spoke again.
This opened up the gates for both of them to chat out each and everything they had been waiting for. They articulated well and their expression showed as if they had been friends since very long. In fact it had been two years since they had been good friends but it was stuck just to the virtual world.
Oooho, it’s 9, I think I have to leave now”, she said.
“Fine”, I hope to meet again if everything works out”, Sujin directed towards her. He reckoned of putting his heart in front of her, but got back thinking-I shall tell her on the final day.
“Why not?”, let’s see what comes up”. She said.
“By the way I’m Sarina”, she said waving her hands.

Just the Sujin also stood up from his position and insisted to walk with her up to the micro station. She agreed instantly. So, they both trot ahead in company of each other. They kept on conversing along the way.
Ah, they were already near the station.
“Okay, thank you Sujin, now I have to leave. I shall cross the toad and catch the micro from other end.”
Oh, well its fine as ever”, Sujin spoke.
“Thank you so much for coming here. I am really glad that we finally met. I hope to continue this relationship like this forever”, Sarina said.
Sujin was just numb for a while. He was unable to utter anything. He kept on looking at her while she waved her hands and parted away.

Sujin turned around and moved ahead in the opposite direction than Sarina. As he moved ahead in the opposite direction, he heard the noises behind him. Actually it was a big screeching sound. When he turned around, he found people gathered in a mass right in between the road. He knew it was an accident  and feared for Sarina.

He ran towards the place where the accident had taken place. He came to know that a young girl was knocked down by a bus.  He was afraid and prayed for Sarina. But alas! His prayer did not do their job. It was Sarina who had got in the accident. She was bleeding profusely from her head, he shook her but she was unconscious. So, without wasting any time he stopped a taxi and took her to the hospital.
Since the traffic was busy and heavy, the taxi got stuck in the middle. Sarina was bleeding more. He tried frantically to stop the bleeding but nothing worked. Somehow the taxi driver took them to the hospital choosing an alternative route. She was rushed to the emergency ward in the hospital but in a matter of minutes the doctor came out and pronounced her dead. They told him that her brain was dead and the brain hemorrhage was the cause of her death.

Near the operation ward in the far left corner, some lines were scribbled ………

“Everything is pre-written, nothing can be re-written.”

“God to Whom the death of a sparrow is equal to the death of a human being, has thus in His mercy limited our knowledge, so that we would fulfill our duty to which we have been assigned.”

~~Da gUILTY consciencE~~
It had already been five years that they have been in love with each other. Kevin and Rita both had good faith in one another and were ready even to settle down with a family. Their journey of love began right from the college, a good friendship and a better companion to each other; it did not take much to fall for one another. Both fell in the lots of most desirable in the world they were exploring. A perfectly blended couple, they always seem to be made for each other; and envy for most of the colleagues. They had shared everything; from textbook to notes and from lover letters to love making and from gifts to beds. Every time they got a chance, they never failed to show their love for one another and every time they were blessed with one such opportunity they never failed to be both erotic and erratic. They both knew their limitations and their capabilities. On top of it, they were aware of what they were doing and where they were heading to. Together they had woven dreams of soaring magnitude and where in no mood to make any further delay. They had decided; it’s high time that they should now get married.

Kevin, a young man of 28 comes from a well-to-do family. He was raised in most affluent manner, had never faced any difficulties of sort. His family was always ready to provide him with everything he had ever desired of. With sound health, good physique and equally perfect looks he often became the hot issue among girls. In past he had spent countless charismatic nights with scores of lovely and beautiful ladies but since Rita came into his life; he got totally changed. He was so attached with her that he wiggled out from every sordid deeds of past. Rita’s love had almost transformed him into a completely new man. He had talked to his parents about his love, Rita. They were the ones who were most happy as their only son was going to start a family of his own.

Rita, the youngest siblings in her family was looked after by her sisters. Two of her elder sisters were married and had settled down some where in abroad. Her parents had passed away many years before in an accident. She was staying with her only sister who was unmarried till date, though the wedding bell for her must have rung already. This sister of her had a very bad bruise, given to her by her so called love. She was broken to such an extent that she decided to never fall in love again or get married. She had distrust for every man. She had categorized every man into single genre of ill filthy parasites, who look for nothing but sex. When she heard from Rita that she had got a most desirable man and that she wanted to get married to him; she was highly disappointed. She had never wanted her sister to buy some dreams from some one, who comes from faction so unpredictable. She tried day in and day out to convince Rita to make second thoughts before taking any further steps but Rita paid no heed to her talks. She trusted Kevin more than any one in the world. Rita told her sister that she can walk to any extent to fetch her dreams. Many days passed in consultations and finally the result came in favor of Rita. Her happiness knew no bounds but it came with one clause laid in front by her sister and she happily endorsed it; as she knew what the outcome is going to be. Her sister wanted to test Kevin under moral grounds and she had a full blown plan on how to carry it out and prove it to Rita; how correct she was in her words and her faith. She told everything to Rita about her plan and how she wanted the support from her to prove how malice intent are the men when it comes to sex. Everything was set up and plot being hatched, they both waited eagerly for the day to come when the result shall be out. Rita, in her wildest dream could not believe how she could be part of such a dire idea. But then she thought any thing for love.

The next day, Rita invited Kevin to her home according to the pre plan. She convinced Kevin that her elder sister wanted to meet him before taking any decision. Since Kevin loved her dearly, he got ready to meet her sister without any hesitations. But his time, he would not be accompanied by Rita; meaning he had to meet Rita’s elder sister all alone.

The time tick tocked to its destination. Kevin was all ready right before an hour. But he wanted to show how punctual he was, so he decided not make any haste. Set in most fanciful and attractive designer’s suit, he looked nothing less than any actor seen on the silver screen. Kevin wanted to create the first and lasting impression in the mind of Rita’s elder sister. He rightly knew what the first impression could do, so he chose not to mess up with anything at all. With everything perfect and in the way he could manage to, he headed to Rita’s home where he was invited by Rita’s sister and that too all alone. He did not have even the slightest of hint about what was going to happen in the coming hour.

Zooming in his car, he swiftly moved towards his destination. Some beautiful song of love was also being played in his car. Whistling the song loud aloud, he seemed so happy and content. He was one step closer to his love. In an hour or half, he was right in front of Rita’s residence He screeched his car, stepped out, banged the door; gazed in the car’s mirror, managed his dress and took a long big stride with an attitude.

There on the door, his sister-in-law was waiting for him to receive him. He thought he could make the impact on the first go but there he stood gazed at his in-law; the impact he wanted to make turned opposite. Clad in long black dress, she looked startlingly gorgeous. The dress she had put on looked as if it was meant for her only. No one would have carried it off so well, he thought to himself. Her slender figure had added more glitz and charisma. He was swept of his feet with her magnetic presence. There he stood thawed unable to utter any words. Before he could do anything, she approached him and wished a good evening and a sweet welcome with a warm hug. She was acting as if she had known him from the years ago. She walked ahead in the most attractive poise leading him inside the home. Kevin quietly followed her as if he had been hypnotized. He could clearly see the wide open cut behind her back. A tattoo of an angel on her lower back was clearly visible. Her smooth voluptuous back and well crafted buttocks were giving him an amazing feel. For a moment he was completely lost in the splendid body of his in-law. After all, who could ignore the fact that he come from the fraternity who are called man. There is an English epigram that says it all “All men are dogs”.

It was winter season, the sun had already made to his home. And along, followed all the subjects of the nature. The cold was slowly catching the momentum. It had set out on its duty and was knocking on the door of every one; from a peddler’s hut to the king’s palace, it was every where. Far, far in the sky the moon was all alone, quiet and shivering. The stars used to be her only friends in the vast stretched universe but today the story was different. They seemed to be lost in the veil of clouds stretched far and wide. To make the matter worse, a cold wind was howling on top of its lungs. The tress, who often demonstrated their vigor were also shuddering this way and that way with the bitter cold. Each and everything were on their feet unable to fight the shooting cold.

But the tales were different inside. Kevin was by now feeling the heat in the atmosphere. He was already in the room and it felt as if everything were meant to welcome him. The red candles burning swiftly, the chandlers put to dim mode and the swift sentimental music slowly playing in the background gave him a feeling that he was there for his first date with the lady who was standing in front of him. The walls inside the room were decorated with portrait of beautiful landscapes and some abstract arts. In the middle of the room laid a fine dinning table with candles of different shapes, design and colors. On the far left was the sofa made from fine leather in a complete dark shades.

“Make your self comfortable”, she said. “I’ll be back in couple of seconds”. She moved out of the room. He could still hear her stilettos even though she was out.

“ Gosh, she is one big bomb, she is amazing. Is she trying to hit on me? Feels like today’s gonna be my night”. He then jumped on the sofa set on the far left.

After nearly five minutes, she appeared in the room with a wine in her hands. This time she looked completely different. She had shaded her long black dress and was standing in front of him in a red gown with her stunning legs clearly visible. To some extent the gown was transparent and the lights in the room could easily penetrate it. She sat beside him and offered him the drink in the most seductive manner. As she was pouring the drinks slightly bending forward, he was enjoying the vision of the gorge formed between her chests. The ravishing chasm looked as if they had been crafted to make any one lost. Kevin took the drink from her but she said “No ya’ have to drink the first one from my hand”. Kevin just nodded his head. This time, she got really closer. She was so close that he could easily feel her heart too. He sipped the whole drink in one gulp. The magical aroma that drizzled from her body enticed him to such a level that he could not resist. He swallowed the whole fragrance in a single breathe that went right to his heart. The room grabbed a sudden silent for a while.

Kevin opened up his mouth this time, “So should we come to the point and start on our talk about me and Rita”. “Yeah, why not?” she exclaimed. “But just a second, let us finish this bottle first”, she said. But Kevin gave a negative nod and said, “We can certainly, but first let’s finish our talks”. “Okay, then let me put this wine bottle on the table”.

She stood up with her back towards him holding the bottle of wine in her hand. The red transparent gown was not able to hide her ornaments of priceless dignity. All the curves and arcs were adding more to her beauty. She swayed ahead towards the table just like some model on the ramp, promoting some wears. Kevin opposed in full velocity, but he knew that he was getting hard on. He had been through many such moments in the past and had tackled in the manner he was supposed to. But after coming close to Rita, he was only in her. So, he had lost track of past records.

She came back in a second again with the same moves that were alluring to the eyes. Just then she held him by his hands and said, “Let’s dance for a while, please”. He did not want to make anything go wrong as he was pre-notified by Rita that one wrong move could ruin their relations. So he wanted to make her happy by any means.

As he stood up, she held him by his hands and got close. They started to dance slowly to the tunes of the music. The music took a different turn and it got more romantic. This time around, she held him in her arms and started moving in a very erotic manner. Now it was it, he could not bear any more, so he ran right out of the door and was out under the sky in a flash.

As he got outside, Rita engulfed him her arms. She uttered, “I love you”. Her eyes were full of tears and before he could speak single words, his in-law stood right before him. “Ya have passed my test, now ya are free to marry her”. She told him everything that was set as a plan to check his faithfulness towards Rita. She took all the blame for the doings and pardoned her way inside.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY (only Kevin knew)…

Actually he had run out to fetch the condoms that he had in his wallet and he had some how forgotten inside the car.

The moral: Never carry the condom in your wallet.

“Hi, Sarina waz up? So, how are ya doin’?”

As she listened to these words she unwind the blanket just to find out her long time buddy Sujin in front of her eyes with a bouquet of flowers. Slowly she moved her blanket aside and stood still on her back.

“Yeah, I am quiet fine and by the way nothing has happened to me, for God’ shake plz don’t look at me that way”. Sujin became speechless. He remained clues less and couldn’t figure out what he should say. “Yeah, ya look ok now”, spoke Sujin.

Sarina got very happy and excited seeing Sujin. She was happy that she now had someone to talk to. “Sit down here and tell me how is Rubin?” “Aaaaa, Rubin!”, he faltered. “Yeah, Rubin, Tell me how is he?” Sujin face withered as she asked of Rubin. He looked as if he had just drunken a bottle poison…He got lost in his own world for a while. His eyes dripped in the pool of tears were enough to say everything. But Sarina couldn’t make out anything and she didn’t want to either.

“Sujin, don’t do so,plz tell me how is my Rubin, tell me now, I have no more patience left in me” Sujin gathered every courage inside him and in a single breathe spat out everything that had long stuck in his heart like a water hyacinth in a pond, “Sarina, Rubin is no more with us. He left this world making us all alone. The accident separated him from us. Now, we no more have to laugh at his silly jokes; we needn’t nod our head to his disgusting ideas and we even needn’t rot our brains to his senseless lyrics.”

While Sujin kept on venting out his frustrations Sarina felt a sudden rush of chill running down her spine. Some sort of emptiness and loneliness crept inside her. She felt a complete grasp of blackout. She was baffled how a person she had loved so dearly could leave her all alone forever, how a person with whom she had shared her dreams and fear could desert her crashing her sweet dreams and aggravating her fears. His lustrous smile, twinkling lovely eyes, wide strong arms and possessive but intricate heart would now, never be available to her; neither in happiness nor in gloominess. Though she tried hard to resist her tears they kept oozing down her cheeks.

The tears gleaming in the eyes of poor Sarina compelled Sujin to ponder over his rude remarks made in anguish. “May be I shouldn’t have told her about the incident at this time”, he cursed himself for his impatience and stupidity. “But somewhere it comes to me that I did right job”, Sujin concluded again. “I have to console Sarina anyhow”, he talked to himself.

Sarina was standing near the window sill, turning her back towards Sujin; gazing at the sky, murmuring some words, perhaps to the Lord or may be to her ill fate….

Lil white flowers shall neva` awaken U,
Not 4m where da black coaches of shadow has taken u,
`NgelZ won’t ever think of returnin’ U.
Wud dey B’ angry if I thought of joinin’ u??

As Sarina was disheartened by the sudden appalling news, Sujin changed his mind. He decided not to say anything at the time and stopped his steps. Instead, he scribbled some words on the card he had brought and made his way towards the door leaving Sarina all alone.

Even the nature seemed to pity on her. The dark clouds filled the whole sky. It cut off the sight of the sky and in a matter of seconds lashed hard on earth in the form of rain. Sarina glanced out of the window and felt as if the sky too was shedding tears in her sorrow; the rain--they sounded tedious and hopeless, as though they were telling over something inexpressively dreary and awful, something of which they were weary to the point of repulsion, something from which they have liked to run away but about which it was nevertheless imperative that they should accept …………..

The road was flocked with umbrellas and raincoats. People were running desperately to escape the heavy downpour. Everyone was busy in their own struggle against the nature. Even though they were trying hard to getaway with the rain, one or two drops would get them anyway. Sarina, in the same manner, though tried hard to accept the unbeatable facts some beautiful past moments with Rubin would always enhance her sorrow and affliction. Sarina was fighting with her emotions to cope up with the facts while the rain was falling continuously and endlessly to clean up the earth………..

a.......t'OuCH!!!!!!

The ascending dust, honking vehicles, the dusky sun and ever moving mass of people; suggested the office time was over. But Laxman hardly knew where he should be heading to. Dashain had knocked at his door too. He had just been out of the office with his salary. Though difficult it may sound, he had to manage a small but joyous Dashain for his family in far away village as promised. He was not able to make out whether he should go for shopping or leave it for the next day. The hustle and bustle of people around every nook and corner suggested that Dashain was on full swing

Laxman found himself flowing among the rabble. An old rusty bus; almost dead screeched it’s off beat brakes just in front of him. Laxman was lost in the confusion whether he should ride the bus to home or move ahead for shopping. But before he came to his senses, he got swept into the bus by the hurricanes of people blazing behind him. He stuck his head out and swore at the impatient people, “F**k I don’t understand why these ass w**les act so smart…..just to hold a filthy seat...”

Laxman, a young man of 23; sound in health and limb was a struggler in the town. He had been in Kathmandu for just a year from far away in a hope of a better career and to further his education. Because of the family pressure he had to tie the knots in early age though he did not want to. But he had no choice besides listening to his parents as they were too old to look after themselves. Leaving his wife at home he was in town to excel their way of life. But life is not that simple, we don’t always get what we expect for. It’s even more wearisome in town as there is more and more tooth to feed in a single opportunity. Laxman had exactly been in the same condition. Though he was fortunate enough to have found a job, he could be proud of; among thousands.

Since it was festive time, there were more people than ever before and Laxman could easily see it in the bus. The bus was crammed with full passengers. As Laxman looked at their face he could easily read the impatience written all over their faces. It may be, because everyone had a festival called Dashain to deal with. As he was already in the bus he said to himself, “Aja ghar janu parla, sabai shopping bhole ra parse milayera garchu ane arko din tira gau janu parla”.

Laxman forayed his eyes around probably in search of a sit but to no avail. Thanks to Dashain, he comforted himself. Just then a sweet aroma caught his diverted attention. Inside the bus, just before him stood a young, beautiful and sumptuous woman in front of his eyes. Clad in sensuous attire, she was spreading a radiant sparkle inside the bus. Laxman wanted to track down his eyes to other direction but he had no control over his eyes; his eyes seemed not to read the direction from his brain. “Gosh, she is damn hot, lucky guy”, he muttered to himself. At the mean time, the bus got jolted and it brought them more close. The woman fell right in his arm. In a matter of second, he pounced upon the aroma and engulfed it right through to his heart like a hungry wolf. The sudden friction of a scintillating woman gave him an impulsive rush of freshness. Their eyes met for a while. Some how he took control over his eyes; as the woman seemed to notice him.

The bus kept advancing on its route while Laxaman was busy making sleazy attempts to scavenge over her stunningly crafted slender body. She had a perfect curvaceous body with all the oomph. “If god has given us those eyes, why not praise all the beauty of the nature”, he got lost to himself. The woman was of average height like every Nepali woman and Laxman was just taller than her. “How I wish my wife to be as gorgeous as her”. “Bhagya sabai ko aaa afnai”, Laxman thought. Since she was not that tall, she was struggling to get hold of the bar inside the bus, so that she could support herself. As Laxman scoured over her feeble attempts, he got blushed with the vision of the chasm formed between her chests. Never in his wildest dream had he ever seen such a strikingly formed gorge. The testosterone inside him started shooting up.

While some passengers got down at their stops, some got inside for their destination. Laxman was still far from his stops, so he thought “let’s enjoy the travel”. Some passengers were busy in their own talks while some were busy paying for the travel to the conductor. The driver seemed busy in his steering. He was happy enjoying the Dohori and moving his steering left and right. Laxman did not actually liked Dohori but today he found some magic even in the Dohori he seldom liked.

A passenger just by his side stood up to get down at his stop. Laxman quickly got hold of the seat. But as he sat down, he got his eyes crossed with the woman he had been flirting with. So, he made a polite request and made the woman take the seat as every gentleman are supposed to do. Merrily the woman took the seat and thanked him for his generosity with a cute smile. Laxman acted as if he was carefree. Holding by the horizontal bar Laxman looked the other way, so that the woman wouldn’t notice his intention. After a brief seconds, he gave a crooked look at the woman and Laxman got thrilled finding her looking at him. For a while he could not make out what should he be doing and excused himself with a frantic smile.

Slowly people started to disappear one by one from the bus. Since the seat beside the lady was empty, she signaled him to comfort himself by the seat. Laxman hastily marched towards the empty seat next to the beautiful lady. Both stayed mummified for a moment. “Kata jharne rahecha yo kt”, Laxman tortured his brain.

He was eager to start a conversation with the lady but he didn’t know how to, as he rarely talked with woman other than his own wife. He surveyed around tickling for a topic to converse with the woman sitting next to her. He got his brain stuffed with different ideas in a matter of second, which he thought he should talk with the woman about. But he dropped all of them; since he contemplated none of them would really work out. He cursed himself for letting go such a great chance. The Dohori was still being played in the backdrop in a full swing.

“Tapai kata samma ho?” The question caught him by surprise, as it was bowled to him by the same lady; he had been seeking ways to chat with. He got stuck for a while and in a stammering tone told, “maaa …..Ma mammm….Sitapaila samma”. “ane tapai ne” Laxman threw the ball at her court. But the lady couldn’t get his question, so she came closer to him; really closer. He could feel the magnetic vibes coming from the lady. Thanks again to the driver and the Dohori that helped him bring the lady closer to him. “Hajur”, the lady spoke out folding her well built legs that had the touch of perfection. The fair mischievous legs gave him a slight pleasure of electrifying charisma.

Laxman felt each of her body parts was seductive. Her eyes beautified with black mascara, her aesthetic gorge in between the chest, her picture perfect large sized bust, her authentic buttocks and her slender fantasying legs were all picture perfect to bring any young man down on his knees. She was more like one of the actresses he had seen on some movie. “Herda ta dhani bau ko chhori jasto chha, feri kina bus ma chadechha”, “Hya, aap(mango) khana paye poge halyo ne, rookh(tree) sanga ke matlab, Laxman mumbled. “K bhanuu bhayeko”, the lady asked in her soft tone. “kehi hoina”, Laxman swayed away from the question. Laxman, then started moving on a fast pace and kept continuing the chit-chat that had so much to give and nothing to lose.

“Ohoo mero stop ayechha, la hai ta, ma janchu”, the lady whispered in his ear again. Laxman was out of his senses. He couldn’t figure out what he should be saying. “Ane ma tapaiko pane bhada deyara janchu la, feri bhetaula”, she sighed in his ear once again but for the last time.

His eyes dropped her to the stop but still had those goose bumps all over. He didn’t want that moment to end so soon. The thrill made him fly high over. He was looking for some more fun. But now that wasn’t possible since she had deserted him alone there in the bus. “Dashain ta mero lagi ramro janchha jasto chha”, he beamed with a satisfaction. The thought of Dashain; at once gravitated him to the ground of reality from where his feet were high over, “Ooooooohoo…” he startled. “How could I be so dim-witted…… God?”. His wallet was out of his pocket.

Moral of the story: DON’T CARRY A WALLET.............(wotttttt???)

~~XperIence~~

The soft breeze of air was flowing swiftly and she could see the leaves of the tree swaying their heads to the beautiful tunes of playful crickets and ever croaking frogs. The aesthetic and alluring moon was playing hide- and- seek with the gigantic clouds. The magnificent aura of the superb flowery aroma had covered the whole area in her magnetizing and voluptuous arms. The whole ambience was scintillating and completely different than the surroundings that she was in some seconds ago.

The moment she stepped outside her house, she took a long deep breathe so as to cheer her guts and to gather within her the freshness of the environment. She never ever had garnered such a wonderful experience of being close to the nature at night. She contemplated for a while and concluded why nature is labeled the most beautiful of all the things we have and above everything we can experience.

She felt really pleased being out at night even though she was not allowed to be out at that particular period of time. But this time around she broke every barrier and brushed aside the family values that had been biased towards her just because she was a lady. Lost in her own world of fantasy, she was completely immersed in the nature and almost forgot why she was there. However a whistle from her friend brought her back to her senses.

Like a firefly she was out in the dark clad in her best attire to experience something new and something exciting. As she got out to the street, she gave a quick look back at her house and found it completely quiet in the backdrop. Without wasting further time she moved ahead towards the place where her boy friend had been waiting for her. Though it was dark she could see faint lines of impatience on his face even from a distance. As she got closer to him, she flashed a smile but he stood still without showing any reactions for a while. He, then gave a close desperate look at her face, caught her hand and made her sit on the bike.

Slowly the bike gathered some momentum and soon they were talking with the wind. The strong splash of cold wind on her face made her even fresh and energetic. The bike started cumulating more speed as both of them wanted to be in the destined party as soon as possible. The curiosity of being in a late night dance party had surfaced in her heart from the time she heard her friends babbling about it. They even cajoled her out to be in the party this time with their sugary and exaggerated bluff. But little did she know they just wanted to sell more of their tickets.

And tonight she set herself to be in the so called dance party that she thought would always be extravagant and lively. She had woven so many wonderful things in her mind about the party. She just wanted to feel and see the magical moment aptly. She hardly had any patience left in her to wait any more. But fate had something she had not expected in store for her. At one of the turning, their bike skidded over because of the uncontrollable speed. They both fell off the bike and the last thing she saw was a graffiti that said, “Drive Slow”.

Next morning as she woke up, she found herself lying on the bed in a hospital with a fractured hand and some scars on her legs. All her family members were around her waiting for her to recover from the unconsciousness. She could feel the deep silence that filled the room. With a frantic smile she surveyed around and fixed her both eyes at the place where her parents were resting. As she peeped into their eyes, she saw tears swelling up. Embarrassed with what had happened, she closed her eyes in a sheer apology as she hardly knew what her explanation could be. And instantly, she covered her face with the blanket and kept on sniveling swiftly and swiftly……..

In one of the corner her friends were sharing the fun moments they had in the dance party. “DJ ta babbal rahechha ne yar!” one of them expressed faintly and the other said, “Arko hafta ta jhan hamile India bata dami DJ bolayeka chhau, so all ya ppl have to b there anyhow”….They kept on whispering how fun, frolic and crispy the party was …..And she just kept listening to them though she didn’t want to……
